Diabetes Awareness Month

I am a diabetic. I’ve been a Type 1 diabetic for a long time. Like pretty much my whole life. It’s rough living with an autoimmune disease that is slowly eating away at itself. I have my good days and I have my bad.

Since November is Diabetes Awareness month please take the time to not only learn about this disease and get yourself tested but also learn a little bit about the difference between type 1 and type 2. There is a difference. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease that I was born with.my pancreas does not function properly or in my case doesn’t function at all. I am insulin dependent due to my pancreas not being able to produce enough or any insulin. Type 2 is based on diet and exercise or lack thereof. Type 1 is genetics, type 2 is not and reversible. Please stop calling it “the sugar”. Contrary to popular belief I actually need sugar to live.

I may share my daily routine with you guys so you can understand what I have to do just to maintain and stay alive. In the meantime and in-between time. Learn a little something and spread the love.
